What to Expect at Your Appointment During COVID-19

We are excited to announce that The Gary and Mary West Senior Dental Center is now seeing patients again in our office as of August 2020, in order to provide much-needed care to people in our community. We are also continuing to provide virtual dental appointments to patients through our teledentistry services.

Since reopening, our office has implemented additional safety procedures to help protect our patients and staff during appointments. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), our office staff has taken all necessary training and precautions to meet the strict guidelines for health care providers.

Here is what you can expect before, during, and after your appointment at the Senior Dental Center:

  1. A member of our staff will call you 48 hours before your appointment to ask screening questions and update/confirm your health history. You will be asked these same questions again upon arrival to our clinic.
  2. Once you arrive at the center, we ask that you call our office at (619)795-1301, and wait outside of the building, with your mask on, for a staff member to greet you.
  3. The staff member, dressed in full Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) will take your temperature, provide you with hand sanitizer and escort you to your appointment (If a caregiver is accompanying you, they will also need to follow this procedure).
  4. We will gather all necessary information through as many contactless ways as possible and have established handwashing protocols for everyone’s safety.
  5. Moving forward, we will make adjustments as recommended by the CDC and communicate them to you..
