World Oral Health Day

The importance of personal dental care is something that should never be taken lightly.  As we age, this becomes a crucial factor in our overall health, as it contributes significantly to our quality of life and general well-being.

Be proud of your mouth!

The FDI World Dental Federation has declared March 20th as World Oral Health Day.  A day where we come together to empower others with the tools and knowledge necessary to secure good oral health.  So today, here at SDC, we would like to help spread their message: BE PROUD OF YOUR MOUTH.

Most oral diseases, if detected and treated early, are preventable.  They can otherwise lead to a number of issues including:

  • Pain and discomfort
  • Social isolation
  • Loss of self-confidence
  • Other serious health issues

What can you do?

Value and take care of your mouth!  By caring for your oral health you can deter or altogether avoid having to face these issues.  Are you taking the steps you need for a healthy mouth?  Take a look to see what you should be doing:

  • Brush your teeth with fluoride at least twice a day
  • Make sure you are cleaning between the gaps
  • Regular dental check-ups
  • Avoid tobacco
  • Favor drinking water over other beverages
  • Avoid sugary foods and maintain a healthy diet

Benefits

Oral health is worth taking action for! The benefits that positively impact your standard of living are worth the effort.  Those who take care of their teeth have been shown to live longer, healthier lives.  Take the action necessary  to care for your oral health.
